Svetlana G. Karstina has a doctoral degree (2011) and a candidate / PhD (1998) in physical - mathematical sciences in the field of condensed matter physics, and a university degree in the specialty "Physicist. Teacher" (1992). The author of over 150 scientific papers in various scientific journals of Kazakhstan and abroad, including the monograph "Fractal Kinetics of Luminescence of Organoluminescent Materials on the Surface of Solid Nanoporous Adsorbents". She works as a professor at the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology of Karagandy University of the name of academician E.A. Buketov (KarU). She has experience in the Expert Council for Physics, Energy and Methods of teaching physics of the Committee on the Supervision and Certification in the field of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan (2006-2007), Chairman of the university dissertation council on thesis for awarding the degree of doctor of philosophy (PhD), doctor in profile "Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology" (2012), an expert on educational programs at the Center for Bologna Process and academic mobility of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan. Has a wide experience of participation and local coordination in TEMPUS, ERASMUS MUNDUS, ERASMUS + projects, realization of joint international educational and research projects, organization of conferences, forums, seminars, workshops, trainings and training courses. Since 2022 she is a member of the international register of professional teachers of the ENTER network.
